Hi, I’m Villy, the Product Manager at Unforgettable Greece. I was born and raised in Athens, but from an early age, I spent my summers along the stunning coastline of Messinia in the Peloponnese. My childhood there was filled with freedom and a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys—untouched natural landscapes, warm hospitality, and exquisite handcrafted cuisine, which I had the pleasure of sharing with friends from all over the world as their “local guide.” I studied Media in Athens and worked as a journalist for magazines and television in both Greece and Canada. Now, as the Product & Content Manager for Unforgettable Greece, I feel like that little girl again, welcoming friends from around the world to experience everything I cherish about this incredible country, whose rich diversity and heartfelt hospitality never fail to amaze me.

Cyclades Islands: flawless architecture, pristine beaches, and a wealth of unique travel experiences found nowhere else in the world, all shaped by their exceptional location, rich history, and distinctive products.

Crete: for Cretans, you’re not a tourist—you’re a friend arriving to share their food and raki. You also enjoy the stunning landscapes, breathtaking beaches, and charming mountain villages, but that’s just a detail.

Ionian Islands: you can’t truly say you know Greece if you haven’t experienced a sailing tour through the Ionian Islands, with its turquoise waters and laid-back atmosphere.

    My Top Greece Travel Tips

    1. Let an expert with extensive knowledge guide you to the best destinations and experiences tailored to your preferences. There’s a wealth of information missing online, and so much more to see and do beyond the typical, ordinary tours.
    2. Greece has so much more to offer beyond Mykonos and Santorini. If you’ve visited these iconic destinations and think you’ve seen it all, you’re only scratching the surface.
    3. Visiting Greece during the off-season will reduce your travel costs and allow you to see even more.
  • Acropolis

What are your favorite experiences in Greece?

Santorini Island Tour and Wine Tasting: There’s no place like Santorini, and the best way to understand why, is through an island tour paired with a tasting of its distinctive indigenous wines.

Athens: An Acropolis tour followed by a sunset at Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon, along the beautiful coastline of the Athens Riviera, perfectly captures why Athens is such an inspiring city.

Milos: any type of island tour, whether by car or boat, reveals the incredible and iconic natural beauty of Milos and Kimolos islands.

  • Poseidonion Hotel Spetses

What are your favorite hotels in Greece?

    1. The Dolo Boutique Hotel: I’m delighted to see one of Athens’ architectural gems brought back to life as a luxury hotel. Perfectly located steps away from Plaka and the historic center, it provides visitors with a true taste of Athenian charm.
    2. Blue Palace Elounda Crete: Nestled on a lush hill near the charming Plaka and its traditional fish taverns, this resort offers breathtaking views of the iconic Spinalonga Island and the magnificent Portobello Bay, along with a beautiful, almost private beach. Its elegant design and tranquil atmosphere provide the perfect setting to unwind and relax.
    3. Poseidonion Hotel Spetses: This is history transformed into a luxurious hotel. Eclectic and elegant, perfectly situated in the picturesque Spetses harbor, it’s an architectural gem brought back to life as a stunning example of 5-star hospitality.

Where are your favorite places to eat in Greece?

Kiki’s Taverna, perched above Agios Sostis beach in Mykonos, serves delightful Greek cuisine in the simplest, most authentic way. Both the food and the setting offer a refreshing, down-to-earth glimpse of the island, far from the bustling crowds.

Peskesi Restaurant and Farm in Heraklion, Crete, beautifully showcases the revival of authentic Cretan diet and culture offering farm to table specialties. It delivers a holistic Cretan dining experience, combining exquisite attention to detail with a friendly and inviting ambiance.
The Elements Restaurant at Canaves Oia Epitome in Santorini perfectly highlights the premium quality of Greek ingredients, expertly incorporated into international and European cuisine.
