Fly into Athens International Airport where you’ll be met for transfer to your hotel in the capital city, a place that’s been continuously inhabited for more than 3,000 years with its cultural achievements in the 5 century BC considered to lay the foundations for western civilization. Drop off your bags and enjoy a little exploring on your own, or relax in your room, getting refreshed for the exciting journey ahead.
You’ll find lots of fabulous outdoor cafes for enjoying the sunshine, people watching and delicious eats along with a wide range of shopping opportunities to keep you busy, from boutiques and markets with handmade items to high-end retailers selling designer brands.
Prepare for a private tour to the Acropolis & Museum where you’ll learn more about the history of Greece, and the world, while visiting places you’ve probably only seen on-screen and in the history books. Transfer back to Athens airport for your flight to legendary Santorini where you’ll get to lay your eyes on one of the world’s most coveted island destinations. Once you’ve checked into your hotel, you’ll embark on some leisure time where you can make a start, exploring the wonders of this jewel of an island, whilst taking in spectacular black sand beaches among the unique volcanic landscape.
Why not go swimming and snorkeling in those crystal-clear cobalt waters, as well as indulging in fresh mouthwatering delicacies in an atmospheric taverna. The locals will cook up the catch of the day, and you’ll able to enjoy the feast and an unforgettable sunset.
Today you’ll explore some of the most some of the most lush vineyards in Greece. The roads of Santorini lead to many vineyards and wineries and you will sample the unique and wonderful flavors of the island’s volcanic wines and learn more about how they’re produced. The dry, mineral-rich volcanic soil has been cultivated by winemakers for millennia, leading to the creation of indigenous grape varieties that are wholly unique to Santorini, molded by the landscape.
Alternatively, experience Santorini’s famously dazzling sunsets on a catamaran cruise. Sail alongside the caldera cliffs, taking in sights like the red and white beaches, stopping to enjoy refreshing dips in the warm springs of the volcanic crater and exploring the magnificent underwater world by snorkeling and swimming through the crystal-clear Aegean Sea.
After checking out of your hotel, head to Santorini’s port to hop on the ferry to Crete. After checking into your hotel in Heraklion (also known as Iraklion), the capital and largest city, you’ll have the day to spend at your leisure.
It’s a good place to just wander around, exploring streets that reveal magnificent evidence of its long historic past, like Venetian mansions that stand tall next to Turkish fountains and Byzantine churches, mixed with a variety of cafes, restaurants and bars. For the best sunset view, head to the Venetian harbor and walk to the end of the fortress.

Embark on a historic adventure that will take you back to Heraklion in 1669 during one of the world’s longest sieges. If you’re up for more, join the optional transfer to Cape Sounion to watch a sunset. Home to the nearly 200-foot-high ancient Greek temple of Poseidon which overlooks the sea, watching the sun dip below the brilliant blue waters here is surreal.
