Graham Carter
Co-Founder
I’ve always had a strong sense of adventure and a curiosity for the world around me. Growing up in South Africa, before the era of smartphones and social media, meant my early years were shaped by real-world exploration: climbing the tallest trees, racking motor bikes down the steepest hills, and learning to drive a tractor at 11. These formative experiences sparked a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors and a willingness to push boundaries.
I spent my childhood between the city, where I was actively involved in sports, excelling in tennis and track—and our family farm, where I gained a deep respect for nature and developed a strong work ethic from a very young age.
After finishing school, I moved to Florida to continue my education and began to explore more of the U.S and the Caribbean, further fueling my interest in travel. In 2001, I relocated to London and started my corporate career, which offered me valuable insights into global trade and afforded me the opportunity to see more of the world.
In 2015, a casual conversation over lunch with friends led to the founding of Unforgettable Travel Company. What started as a shared idea has since grown into a team of nearly 100 people across six offices, all working together to create personalized, memorable travel experiences for clients around the globe.
“While others claim to go above and beyond for their clients, Carter has made it his unwavering mission to do so, crafting unforgettable experiences with his personal, human touch.” – Forbes, Dec 2024.

My Favorite Greek Hotel
I have two favourite hotels in Greece. The first is Stella Island Resort in Crete, which reminds me of a Maldives like floating resort with its myriad of pools and suites with their own swim up balconies. The second hotel is 18 Grapes in Naxos, which I recommend to a lot of my clients. It’s not only a hidden gem but it also offers probably the best service I have come across in Greece.

My Favorite Sunset Moment
My favourite place to enjoy a sundowner and chill in Greece has to be Cavo Tagoo. The hotels impressive infinity pool provides a backdrop to an unforgettable sunset experience, accompanied by a superb cocktail menu and a live DJ each evening during the Summer months. Alongside Santorini’s caldera view, this is one of the prettiest places to see the sunset in Greece.

My Favorite Greek Restaurant
The one restaurant my wife and I always talk about and holds a special memories for us is Lauda Restaurant in Santorini. We first visited this stunning restaurant in 2018 and were very fortunate to get the table with the red chairs, which are impossible to book. We did and not only was their tasting menu to die for but the caldera view at sunset was something else. If you are celebrating a special occasion, then I highly recommend Lauda.

My Favorite Travel Experience in Greece
If you are a fan of authentic cooking classes and sampling really tasty Greek food, then my top recommendation is a private cooking class in Mykonos with Teta at her home in Mykonos. Notwithstanding her absolutely beautiful home, her cooking class is a lot of fun with delicious food and useful cooking tips which still today we use in our kitchen at home.

My Favorite Greek Island
The island I have visited the most and really enjoy spending time on is Mykonos. You can spend hours getting lost amongst its colourful streets adorned with interesting boutique stores. As a food lover, I enjoy the fact that one night you can be sampling an authentic local restaurant and the next fine dining on world class cuisine – it offers something for everyone. Mykonos offers probably the best choice of beaches and also beach bars in all of Greece and really caters for beach lovers. The island is fortunate to enjoy excellent ferry connections to Santorini, Naxos and Paros, so it’s a perfect island to easily fit into almost any itinerary.
